This year we have the highest number of children to-date living at the centre. There are now 26 children who permanently reside at the centre and I’m delighted to advise that we now have 17 sponsors – the most we’ve ever had!
Supporting these children through the child sponsorship scheme means the Amani Centre can continue to accept new children and they all continue to have have the opportunity of an education, much needed therapy, essentials such as clothes, food, shelter and the love and care of the Amani community. It also means that Amani can accept new arrivals to the centre more often!
One new child was brought to Amani following an outreach visit earlier this year. He is an extremely intelligent little boy and thanks to Amani, he now has his own wheelchair, is due to begin mainstream secondary school in January and is learning how to use computers.
Friends of Amani Tanzania UK with Amani Centre have identified disadvantaged children that greatly appreciate support with their education from long-term donors in the UK. The close working of FOAT and Amani Centre, together with digital communications, allow children to fulfil their educational aspirations whilst donors receive detailed information about the children's progress. The scheme is rewarding for both parties and is changing lives for the better.
Would-be donors should contact FOAT directly and will need to provide Trustees with formal assurances that their support will be continuous. The number of donors continues to grow and we would be grateful of further interest.
